Lead role auditions will be on October 9 and 10 after school in the auditorium.

Every actor is given the opportunity to audition for a lead role. Favoritism does NOT play a part in the casting process. We select the cast based on the audition AND on who we think is best suited for each role regardless of size, shape, ethnicity or, when the role allows, gender. Preparation is crucial. Earn the role you want!
Anyone who wants to be in the show WILL be in the show. However, if you want to play a lead role (a character who has speaking lines and/or songs to sing solo) then you MUST audition. Audition materials (scenes to memorize and songs to learn) will be posted on this page .

ENSEMBLE PARTS - If not playing a lead role, everyone else will be distributed among the following ensemble groups. These performers are CRUCIAL to the success of our show and are, therefore, important members of our cast.

You only need to memorize the lines of the character you wish to play. One of the teachers will read the other part with you at the audition.
NOTE: There is not an audition scene for Te Fiti or for the Chief Ancestor roles. If you want one of those roles, please use the Sina audition scene (for Te Fiti or for female ancestor) or the Chief Tui audition scene to be a male Chief Ancestor.

Lead Roles in MOANA, JR:
- Moana - FEMALE - A strong, confident young woman and the future Chief of Motunui. She is deeply connected to her island as well as the ocean and is curious about what lies beyond the reef. Empowered and driven, Moana will stop at nothing to save her people. Must SING and ACT a great deal.
- Chief Tui - MALE - Moana's father and leader of Motunui. He is protective of his daughter and his people, always wanting to keep them safe. Must SING and ACT.
- Sina - FEMALE - Moana's kind and loving mother who takes great pride in her daughter. Must SING and ACT.
- Pua - MALE or FEMALE - One of Moana's best friends. Sweet, unconditionally loyal and easily scared. Played as human in this show. ACTING and SINGING required.
- Hei-Hei - MALE or FEMALE - Moana's other best friend, who is well-meaning, but not so bright. ACTING and SINGING required.
- Gramma Tala - FEMALE - The wise and eccentric grandmother of Moana and mother of Chief Tui. She holds her role as Motunui's storyteller with pride, passing on the stories of the islands' past. Must SING and ACT.
- Maui - MALE - The comedic, selfish, sarcastic demigod of the wind and sea, who actually has a heart of gold. Must SING and ACT.
- Tamatoa - MALE or FEMALE - A gigantic crab and collector of all things "Shiny." Dangerously egosistical and dramatic. Must ACT and SING.
- Left Claw & Right Claw - MALE or FEMALE - Tamatoa's crony-like claws who act as extensions of the crab's self-centered and ostentatious nature. SING and ACT.
- Te Fiti - FEMALE - The regal and benevolent mother island, creator of all life. Without her heart she appears as Te Ka, a demon of earth and fire. ACTING required.
- Chief Ancestors - Featured members of the Ancestor Ensemble. Storytellers. SINGING and ACTING required.
