Please read through this ENTIRE thing...
Although this is not mandatory, I am suggesting you attend these dance auditions because of how many different ensemble groups there are in the show. And after all, you will ALL be learning this dance for the show :)
Please wear sneakers/dance shoes and clothes you can move in.
I will post a video of the dance, we will review it at auditions & then you will do it in groups.
THIS IS NOT INTIMIDATING- IN FACT...IT IS FUN! Please do not be nervous for this- it is truly just so I can get a feel about how many different ensemble groups I need since there are SO MANY ensemble numbers in this show! YAY!
Tap Dance Auditions: Dec 19th 3:30-4:15
* If you are auditioning for Squidward you SHOULD come to this audition & watch and learn some of the combination. If you are auditioning for Squidward, YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TAP...I WILL TEACH YOU. I repeat...You do not need to know how to tap. I will teach you & we will make it as easy as possible & you do not need tap shoes for the audition.
Ensemble tappers: YOU MUST have tap shoes for the audition
I will post a video of the dance, we will review it at auditions & then you will do it in groups.

ACTING AUDITION SCENES/MONOLOGUES
If you plan on auditioning for a lead or supporting role you must memorize the scene or monologue from the list below.
Remember: According to the creators of this show, ANY role may be played by a person of ANY gender. However, since these are cartoon characters, you must create BIG, BROAD, BOLD characters! Play with your physicality! Play with your voice! Make these characters come ALIVE!
Lead Roles: SpongeBob*, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Plankton, Karen, Mr. Krabs, Pearl
*Please Note: If you are auditioning for SpongeBob, you must learn the scene AND the monologue.
Supporting Roles: Patchy the Pirate, Perch Perkins, The Mayor, the French Narrator (voiceover), Larry the Lobster, Old Man Jenkins
The ensemble is ALL OVER this show! And, there are MANY opportunities to feature members of the ensemble! So, don't be shy...prepare for these auditions and get yourself a part!
